Founder of Feminist.com, Marianne Schnall, shares her interviews with politicians, public officials, thought leaders, writers, artists, and activists on
“What Will It Take to Make A Woman President?” Conversations About Women, Leadership, and Power.
Prompted by a question from her then-eight-year-old daughter, “Why haven’t we ever had a woman president?” Marianne Schnall set out on a journey to find the answer. She looked at the issues from a variety of angles and perspectives, gathered viewpoints from high profile, influential people across sectors, collectiing insights and personal anecdotes from Sheryl Sandberg, Maya Angelou, Gloria Steinem, Nancy Pelosi, Nicholas Kristof, Melissa Etheridge, Olympia Snowe, and many more.
What Will It Take to Make a Woman President? addresses the timely and broader goal of encouraging women and girls to be leaders and change agents in their lives, their communities, and in the larger world.
Marianne and her interviewees explore the changing paradigms occurring in politics and in our culture in order to hopefully move closer towards meaningful and effective solutions — and the vision of a world where a woman can be president. ISBN 978-1-58005-496-6.
2015 was the year that welcomed the most women in Congress ever! That’s the good news, but women’s representation is still dismal overall in leadership roles in politics and business. A portion of the proceeds go to Feminist.com’s Women & Leadership Initiative to continue the conversation and community around important questions related to women’s paths to leadership, how women are treated once they become leaders, and how to empower women leaders in our local communities.
