Description
Sometimes the Spoon Runs Away with the Other Spoon is a great children’s book. Re-creating nursery rhymes and fairy tales, this radical activity book takes anecdotes from the lives of real kids and mixes them with classic tales to create true-to-life characters, situations, and resolutions.
Featuring massive beasts who enjoy dainty, pretty jewelry and princesses who build rocket ships, this fun-for-all-ages coloring book celebrates those who do not fit into disempowering gender categorizations, from sensitive boys to tough girls.
Jacinta Bunnell carries her art supplies around in an Evel Knievel lunch box because, well, you just never know. She learned to draw from children. Due to challenging weather circumstances, Jacinta was once trapped inside the house for a week eating only her mother’s fruitcake for survival.
Jacinta has toured the U.S. and Canada, sometimes in a veggie-diesel vehicle, with The Sparkle Kids Action Network, The Gadabout Film Fest, Neko Case, Dave End, Anne Elizabeth Moore, Julie Novak, Irit Reinheimer and Michael Truckpile. She is the author of three coloring books: Sometimes the Spoon Runs Away With Another Spoon, Girls Will Be Boys Will Be Girls Will Be…, and Girls Are Not Chicks. She is one of the co-founders of Hudson Valley B.R.A.W.L. (Broad’s Regional Arm Wrestling League), a mighty fine fancily-clad arm wrestling league for ladies only.
