The Process: Each rubber tree weeps 15 grams of latex daily. A Queen size Core needs the daily output of 2500 trees, spread over 12 acres of rubber plantation, providing a living to eight rubber tappers. Interestingly, these rubber trees account for the removal of 143 metric tons of Carbon Di Oxide from the environment in 1 year. This is the genuine contribution to the environment.
Quality Control: Checking the hardness, weight as well a final visual check. Our 16 point Quality control procedure assures consistent quality from Raw materials to final product.
Dunlop Overview: The Dunlop process is the most common method of producing mattresses and other products made from natural latex. In this process, the serum is collected from rubber trees, then frothed in a centrifuge. The material is then poured into a mold and baked at a low temperature. Latex products made using the Dunlop process are typically more dense than those made using the Talalay process.

Cotton Cloud is a labor of love, and allows me to do good work for the planet while benefiting the local community by employing a diverse range
of people, partnering with small businesses, and donating to organizations like In Other Words Feminist Resource Center.
I’m proud to say that all Cotton Cloud products are made by hand with an emphasis on natural materials, renewable resources that are harvested in sustainable ways, and attention to detail. This has been true since I built my first futon in 1981, and my commitment to the planet and my close connection to my community are still as strong as ever. Terri Treat, Owner, Cotton Cloud Futons.
