Why Focus on Nutrition? Did you know 80% of our immune system is in our gut? That's why it's so important to consistently eat foods that build and support our immune system. It's all about inflammation! There is also a need to understand and respect nutrition and not be afraid of the word "diet." Diet simply means "assembly of food." Think of your "diet" as your personal lifestyle, not a sentence to lose weight. That will happen on its own when you make positive changes in your diet.
Approach to Healing: General healthcare tends to consist of limited visits with your doctor. In most cases ten minutes, and usually after you have been living with a "symptom" for a long period of time. It's important to be "pro-active" with your health before you feel the "symptoms" because usually when you get to that point you already have some damage or disease.
Taking Inventory: Although I had been commited to health and fitness for over 20 years, I realized I was missing a key element. I didn't know enough about food allergies and nutrition. I never believed food could have such a critical impact on our health!
With an evaluation and a few simple tests, I was able to find the underlying cause of my symptoms. I am allergic to dairy and have a severe intolerance to gluten. By changing my "diet" and adding essential supplements I was able to eliminate prescriptions all together for migraines, arthritis, allergies, asthma, and IBS. In addition, and amazement of the doctors, my Sjogrens is under control. It's not an easy path by all means, and is an ongoing commitment to yourself, but I can tell you with confidence, it is well worth the effort!
