With Fair Trade practices and pure love, Coleccion Luna, a Mayan Women's Cooperative, creates beautiful, ingenious, and awe inspiring woven items.
In the Spring of 2012, Stephanie Jolluck and the artisans of Coleccion Luna partnered with Emmanuel Jal who was once a Sudanese child soldier, and is now an international peace activist, musician, actor, writer, and speaker.
With a cooperative of more than 100 Mayan Indigenous women artisans located on Lake Atitlan, this partnership creates this line of beautiful handcrafted beaded bracelets with Emmanuel's "We Want Peace" logo.
The proceeds from the sale of these items help raise funds and awareness for We Want Peace's mission to build schools in Sudan, and spread message of global peace.
Stephanie Jolluck is a social entrepreneur. She started Coleccion Luna in 1999 at age twenty-six with a focus on women’s empowerment, alleviating poverty, preserving tradition, sustainability, and promoting cultural diversity and understanding.
For thirteen years, she has travelled to the Highland Region of Guatemala four to six times a year to work directly with Mayan women artisans on designs.
