Anita Shane Alaska Rug CompanyThe Alaska Rug Company is owned  and operated by Anita Shane. Both the company and Anita reside at the Port Bailey Cannery, a 100 year old decommissioned cannery on the island of Kodiak.  The Shane's live on-site year round.

Anita started the Alaska Rug Company in the winter 2010 when she and her husband decided to quit smoking.  In lieu of strangling one another while quitting, they came up with a way to keep their hands busy and started playing with rope, finding designs and knots and began making rugs which led to much more.

We are only accessible by sea plane or boat, and have mail service once a week.
