We are an Internet Marketplace providing Fair-Trade Market Access to women artists and green entrepreneurs around the world, amplifying our voices and creating better living conditions. Sales act like micro-credit loans that provide consistent yields, creating self-sufficiency and allowing women to invest in our lives, communities and businesses according to our priorities. Our Fair-Trade Pricing covers the cost of production and facilitates social development and the protection and conservation of the environment.
Why our focus on women? Studies show that when resources are directed toward the women, everyone benefits! Gender equality is crucial for conservation, sustainable development, and equitable benefit sharing. Women entrepreneurs make informed choices and negotiate outcomes that balance biodiversity, conservation, and human development needs. 10,000 years ago, we women invented/developed agriculture based on our menstrual connection to lunar cycles. Women are intimately and economically connected to earth and her resources.
Our passion and dedication is to “Woman-Identified Sustainable Development,” putting women and our experiences back at the center of development strategies. We offer products for sale that are sustainable development solutions, products created by women and woman owned businesses, products derived out of women's cultures and lifelong experiences, earth friendly manufacturing practices and ethical business practices. Our Goals:
To build “Connected Consumerism.” We are building a company that empowers consumers as well as women entrepreneurs. At GreenWomanStore, we want to empower women who have great ideas and exciting products at all levels of their business life, while at the same time helping consumers feel that their purchases benefit and are connected to community, earth friendly manufacturing, ethical business practices, fairness and fair trade -- where every purchase feels good and safe for our families and our environment.
To make visible to shoppers, woman-made art and green products that are shipped to buyers directly from the artists and green entrepreneurs, building alliances among different sectors, associations, regions and countries, overcoming barriers to greater collaboration and resource sharing.
To invite women Investors to share in our business of green world trade, investing in women, promoting gender equity, hope and justice, and tackling poverty to deliver outcomes that no single actor could achieve alone.
To encourage sustainable livelihoods through a fair-trade return of 50%-80% to the local woman artist, manufacturer, co-op, organization, or village project, to improve incomes, reduce poverty and marginalization, and bring direct benefits to local circumstances.
To educate shoppers through free Podcasts about the many contributions, past and present, that women’s role, women's lifelong experiences, and women’s culture have in creating a peaceful and sustainable future for us all.
To increase women’s share of world trade, directly reducing poverty, and to promote women’s green enterprises with the potential of serving as inspiration to other women around the globe.
